Academy Advisory Body

As Chair of the Academy Advisory Board, I would like to welcome your child to St Wilfrid’s Academy. The Academy Advisory Board works with the school to ensure that the school provides the very best it can for your child. We are a team of people; parents, representatives and staff. We meet regularly to plan for the future of the school. We are here to support and advise parents too. The school is “A caring school with a focus on achievement” and this is something that the Governing Body takes great pride in too.

The school is fortunate in having a well-qualified, dedicated and caring staff that take pride in their pupils and expect high standards in both work and behaviour. There is a strong commitment by all staff to work extremely hard to help each child reach their full potential. We also appreciate the role that you as parents make to support your child and the staff during your child’s time at St Wilfrid’s Academy. This is an important factor in how your child does at school.

I assure you that we will take the utmost care to provide a safe and stimulating environment for your child. As Chair of the AAB, I visit the school regularly throughout the school day and meet students and staff. I aim to be present at school events and Student Showcases and would like to meet with you to discuss your views of the schools and your child’s educational experience at St Wilfrid’s Academy.

We are always on the look-out for new people who might be interested in joining the AAB, so please get in touch if you might be able to join us.

This is not a massive commitment (maybe just a few hours each month), and you don't need to be an expert in education, management - just a willingness to get involved and support the Academy! And you will hopefully get the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people, and help make a difference in the life of the community.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch about any of this, or anything else, by using the Contact Tab and emailing us, or by telephoning our admin team.
