Within St Wilfrid’s Academy there is a designated ‘Wellbeing Zone’ which comprises our SEND team, the courtyard sensory garden and animal therapy area, a 1:1 therapy space and an identified ‘Wellbeing Room’. The Wellbeing Room is staffed throughout the day by our pastoral team and our trained therapist, to assist with the emotional mental health needs of the students.
There are times where individual children may be struggling to deal with their feelings and need support in regulating their emotions. During these times, students may access the Wellbeing Zone. Staff work with the children to reset their emotions and behaviours, and successfully reengage them in learning.
