Enrichment

Access to outdoor learning and exercise is vital to a young person’s wellbeing. Alongside our academic provision, we offer a number of sports and enrichment opportunities, both on and off the academy site.

KS2 and KS3 pupils are offered free swimming lessons on a weekly basis, working through the ASA swimming awards programme, and have weekly sessions with a basketball coach.

Alongside our timetabled PE sessions, every Wednesday afternoon we run a whole school enrichment programme: this is grouped vertically from KS2-4, giving all students the chance to engage in a range of activities including mountain biking in Clumber Park, gym sessions at the Dome, free swim at Adwick Leisure Centre, football at Goals, along with an on site offer which includes the RHS horticulture club.

In KS4, a number of our students are working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award. Amongst other activities, this includes an annual visit to Dallowgill, Delta’s own residential centre in Nidderdale, where they complete the expedition element of the award.
